Waterproof sails are made from high density polyester that blocks up to 95% of the sun's UV rays and repels up to 99% of rain water.Please be aware that if the waterproof sail is not installed at an angle, water will begin to accumulate in the center of the sail and eventually the water will seep through. Sometimes small amounts of rainfall will also pass through the hemming of the sail.However,as long as it is installed with at least one corner lower than the other

(a 30-45 degree angle is recommended) and with enough tension, majority of rainfall will run off. Customers can refer to installation illustration for help. Please note, a tarp is suggested instead if you are looking for 100% dryness. Waterproof sails are not breathable, therefore, are not made to withstand high winds. If you live in a windy area, we highly recommend you consider purchasing our HDPE mesh sunshade sails.

You can creatively design your own little shady area in a courtyard, pool, gardens, children's play areas, car spaces, and even entry ways.

HOW TO MAKE THE MEASUREMENT

1. Measure the distance from one post to the next post.

2. Based upon those measurements, subtract 1-1.5 feet. For example, for a 9' by 9' measurement we suggest one 8' by 8' product.

*Our sun shade sails have curves on each side to enhance pull strength and prevent drooping on the sides. Due to the curved sides on sun shade sails, the product may have 1-6 inches deviations on side length. For our hand-made products, deviations of 2 inches more or less is not uncommon. Thus, any deviations between 0 and 8 inches are acceptable for our products.

*Due to curves, please keep in mind that our sun shade sails will be 4-6 inches shorter in middle width.

Note: No "waterproof" sun shade from any manufacturer is 100% waterproof, then it would be a plastic tarp.

If water is allowed to pool in the center of the sail, it will slowly drip through. Some water may also drip through the stitching on the seams, but if the sail is installed at at 30-45 degree angle with enough tension, most rain water will run off.
